Sonatas in G Major BWV1021 & E Minor BWV1023 composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. 1685-1750. Edited by Hoh. Lessing. For Violin, Guitar. Sheet Music. Published by Zimmermann. PE.ZM32650. It is assumed that the pieces were composed around 1720. At that time, Bach arranged his sonatas in such a way that the bass was freed from the mere role of a continuo and was elevated to the same level as the violin. Kolja Lessing, the violin player, called the violin part careful and sparse. A separate basso part, which also contains the original fingering, rounds off this edition.
