Taken from a long-lost sketch score acquired by arranger. conductor Wayne Gorder, with sparsely indicated information and instrumentation, it appears that the famed Danish composer, Carl Nielsen composed this treatment in commemoration of the tragic sinking of the RMS Titanic, the tune having been played by its brave band as the ship sank beneath the waters. A moving and lovely treatment, it calls for sensitivity and good control.
